VR6 Upper Intake Manifold Removal - 720p How to DIY

This video shows how to remove an upper intake manifold from a 12v AAA MKIII VR6 (1991-1999.5). There are small differences with the 12v and 24v MKIV VR6 (1999.5 +) but unless someone gives me one, I can't make a specific video ;)

To gain room for the upper intake manifold bolts, you have two options:

1. Place the front lock carrier in a service configuration (this is what I did; see my other vid http://youtu.be/s4qVJ-Yy5bY)

2. Remove lower bolt from front engine mount, remove upper bolt from passenger side engine mount, and carefully jack up the front of the engine.

Took me 19 minutes but I haven't removed an intake manifold in the last 4 years and I spent some time bumbling about. You can get pretty fast at it.
