Keep in mind that you need to match up the air compressor with the tools you are using. Follow the recommended CFM rating in your air tool's documentation and purchase an appropriate air compressor. If you get a compressor that is too small, it will run all the time and you will be waiting on it to pump back up to the proper pressure. My air supply comes from a 60 gallon up-right Porter Cable with a 7hp 240v AC motor. It supplies 12.1 CFM at 40 PSI or 9.7 CFM at 90 PSI. Max pressure is 135 PSI. The is obviously more than enough air to drive this nail gun. I had originally purchased the compressor to power a pressure-fed sand blaster for stripping a car body. Mine is permanently bolted to the concrete floor of my shop using anchor bolts. I use a 100 ft air hose to bring the air to where ever I need it around the house.
