Fighting within Protection Dog Training by CPI.mov

This is the beginning of our protection dogs using their fighting skills learned in the "CPI classroom". The protection dog in this video must fight an unknown threat (does not see the person ahead of time) wearing a muzzle. This enables the person posing as a threat to do so without wearing any training equipment.

In this situation we add to the fighting by creating an unstable environment as well as chaos. We used a metal cabinet placed on it's back and a dish underneath it to create a surface both slippery, noisy (as the dog jumps into the cabinet to get to the threat) as well as unstable. We add to the chaos further by using chairs, plastic bottles and boxes to try and block the dog from biting. In addition we have a door in the back of the room that randomly falls onto the dog and decoy (person posing as a threat). In the midst of all of these challenges the dog must also deal with the actual threat: the decoy who is using his hands, legs, feet and every prop available to keep the dog off of him.

This is not how we teach protection dogs to fight. This is integration training conducted after learning our advanced fighting skills. Our training is available not only on dogs purchased from CPI.
